Catapult (ZBrush Model Changes)

I made some changes to my catapult. The most obvious one is the texture. I didn't like the wood texture that I had before because it looked too smooth to be a catapult from medieval times. Also, the wheels were too small and so I had to increase the size of them only slightly. I also started to sculpt in the features of the ropes.

Catapult (Z Brush Screenshots)

This is my catapult textured into Z Brush. At this point of the project, all I needed to do was to texture the gears on the outside with some rust, and sculpt in the ropes.

Catapult (Maya Screenshots)

For my last project for portfolio, I decided to do a medieval catapult. This is just a basic model done in Maya.

Shield/Swords and Torch Models

For my third portfolio piece, I planned on doing a sword and shield scene other wise known as a coat of arms. In the final piece, the shield is mounted on the brick wall with the two swords crossing each other behind it. There are two torches on both sides of the coat of arms to give lighting to the weapons. All of the models were done in Maya and then brought into ZBrush to texture. For the shield and wall, I used the spotlight painting tool in ZBrush to first texture them using the reference images I had, and then I sculpted in or out in the areas I needed to in order to be more accurate as opposed to just sculpting freehanded.

Knight (Maya and Z Brush Screenshots)

This is my redone knight piece. This time model was made with a reference that depicted the whole suit of armor.

Armor Parts (ZBrush Screenshots)

These are all of the body armor pieces taken into ZBrush that were previously shown in the last screenshot in Maya. Despite not fitting together correctly in the Maya model, as far as texturing goes, they came out pretty decent.

Body Armor

For my second portfolio piece, I decided to do a suit of armor. This one was a bit of a problem because each of the pieces that you see are modeled from from different references rather than one whole piece and so they didn't exactly fit with each other. However, I did take these into ZBrush and textured them nicely.
